Eighth Day's New CEO, Savannah Sachs, Discusses Her Top Priorities

Eighth Day, a skin care brand founded by dermatologic surgeon Antony Nakhla, MD, has named Savannah Sachs as CEO.

Sachs most recently served as CEO of Tula.

Nakhla will retain his role as the brand's founder, chairman of the board and science innovator, and will continue practicing dermatology and dermatologic surgery in Newport Beach, California.

In September 2023, L Catterton's Elevate Beauty acquired a minority stake in Eighth Day to boost the brand's executive team, drive new product development and support global expansion. Notably, Tula was an L Catterton investment and was acquired by Procter & Gamble in 2022.

Eighth Day was founded in 2021 and has spawned a key hero product, The Regenerative Serum; the brand is built around its Peptide-rich Plasma technology, which comprises 24 bioidentical synthetic peptides, growth factors and amino acids.

"At the onset, we’re going straight into brand and team-building mode," says Sachs, "with a priority on attracting rockstar talent across brand marketing and digital."

The executive adds, "In addition to building out the team, I am currently in the diligence stage which will inform the overall brand and channel strategy throughout this calendar year. But, generally speaking, we will ground our strategy in today’s consumer and luxury market context to build toward Dr. Nakhla’s vision."

Sachs also offers some thoughts on the cult-status success of Eighth Day so far.
